FLFAA is a non-profit animal welfare organization based in Rochester, New York. Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) public charity in 2006, our mission is to enrich the lives of displaced cats and kittens.
"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." --Benjamin Franklin
Our primary focus is on curbing the cat overpopulation problem. We believe in educating the public on the consequences of irresponsible cat ownership and empowering those who seek help with stray or feral cats. We aim to provide the community with the knowledge and tools needed to become proactive in the fight against cat overpopulation. To that end, we rescue cats in need and provide them with veterinary care, food, shelter, and love. We do not euthanize cats to "make room" for other cats.
All of our adoptable animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Please visit our "Adoptable Animals" page to see photos and read the stories behind the animals waiting for forever homes.
We are now working diligently toward our goal of creating a low-cost spay/neuter program for all cats: owned, stray or feral. Timely, affordable access to sterilization surgeries is the key to curbing the cat overpopulation problem in our community and nationwide.
FLFAA is entirely staffed by dedicated volunteers and funded through private donations. We rely on a generous public to support our efforts -- please visit our "Donate Now" and "Volunteer" pages to learn how you can make a difference in a deserving animal's life. We are proud to say that 100% of each donation received goes directly to the animals and their care.
FLFAA participates in the humane trapping, neuter, and return (TNR) of feral cats. We try to educate the public on the plight of feral cats in the United States and urge people with "nuisance cat problems" to take a proactive role in bettering the lives of these forgotten animals through TNR and responsible colony management. Please visit our "Feral Cats" page to learn more about feral cats and how you can help these often-misunderstood animals.
