Gracie is getting to know new friends, Lincoln (shown here in a cuddle), and adopter Linda's grandson, baby Gus. By all accounts it's been a great experience for all and one Gracie taken in stride! Gracie is so happy to have found such a great forever home!
Jeter (Jack):
From Jeter's owner:
Just wanted to say that jeter has been such a joy and is truly a wonderful kitty! He has a great personality and I wanted to just say thank you for allowing me to adopt him. He's a very happy, spoiled, and loved cat! Thanks again four legged friends!
Holstein (Nick) continued:
Some great shots of Holstein and his new pet family!
Angus/Sport (experiencing sibling love):
Angus's new owner, Debi, shares his story:
Angus's nickname is "Meaty" AKA Meatball. He is a sweetheart and his little sister Kanga LOOOOVES him ( as you can see from the picture). They spend a big part of their day bathing each other or hanging out on their cat tree catching rays and watching everything that goes by. They love to sleep with us in bed every night. He is a true joy, thank you again.
Chip:
Says Chip's new family: Chip is doing great! He is fitting in perfectly here and loves to explore. He loves to run around the house and has found his favorite places already. He is just so sweet and friendly. My son loves him. He lets my son hold him and cuddle with him, and is he so good about the way he lets my son know he would like to get down. He is getting used to the dogs and doesn't hiss at them anymore. I think they will all be best buddies soon. He still talks to us a lot and his meow is so funny. He loves his canned food and when he sees the can and spoon he gets so excited. Thank you so much for the new family member to our family.
Note from our success story Wiley:
Hi folks,
Sorry it has taken me so long to let you know how I am. I love this place!!!
I get to run all over the place, drive the dog crazy, tho he does like me and we sleep together at night
with Tansey ( my new cat sister). Of course we let Mom sleep there too.
I let Mom pet me, and even pick me now for about 2 minutes. If she listens to me, I'll even let her brush me; but I have to stay on the floor.
I fight a bit with Tansey, and Mom sprays the water bottle at me. Oh, I have a really loud purr that I'm finally ok with everyone hearing.
As you can see I'm doing great. Thank you all so much for taking care of me for so long. And thank you for letting me adopt Mom!
Wiley
Wanda/Rosie:
Wanda/Rosie's owner says: We love Rosie very much! Thanks, FLFAA, for all your hard work with the animals!
Romeo (Sebastian) & Juliet:
Romeo and Juliet are doing great at Sycamore Hill Farm! The hay filled loft is a comfy pace to snuggle and Mom feeds us 2x day. We are allowing some petting from humans as well. Thanks, FLFAA.
Jet & Sissy (Collin & Marnie):
Relaxing poolside at their new home! A short update from their new owners: Jet and Sissy could have free roam of the outdoors in yesterday's beautiful weather. They had such a good time. They were having so much fun running after chipmunks and pouncing on who knows what. It felt good that I could give them a place they could enjoy.
Kubby (Gulliver):
Kubby at home with companion (also from Four-Legged Friends), Watson. His new owners say: We've had him almost 3 weeks and he has captured our hearts!
Ruby:
This picture says it all! Ruby has adjusted tremendously well to her new home! Her new owner says she is fantastic. Maddie, the dog, looks to be quite happy with her new companion, too.
Chiquita (Kimberly):
Super shy when she came to us, Chiquita is now enjoy walking the trails with her new owner. Says her new owner: "She is such a happy puppy. It is so much fun watching her become a "real dog"!! She is walked three times a day and she knows when it is time - she won't let me forget. She walks with a swagger, with her tail up in the air and wagging constantly." What a great new life for Chiquita!
Whisper:
From Whisper's new owner: She's doing great! Whisper has a great appetite and is an absolute sweetheart. She and our male kitty have bonded and like to hang out in the shower together. She is just a sweet kitty and we're so glad to have her as part of our "family."
Halfpint/Penelope:
Halfpint was returned to her two brothers when her wonderful family welcomed another cat into their home. They say: Halfpint is just lovely and we love her very much. She is very beautiful, very siamesey, which we really enjoy. The boys are really affectionate, fantastic mousers, and most delightful, but aren't as eccentric as her, we don't think. ... I really do believe that the boys like having her around. It appears that she has quite the siamese temperament. She also seems quite courageous as each day she integrates herself closer and closer into our household of humans, cats and dogs.
Nick's Story:
His owner says: He is absolutely wonderful.. he has fully adjusted to his new home and he really is the perfect kitty for us. I love a cat who is a talker, and we always know where he is in the house because he is constantly meowing at everything. His favorite thing to do is push his face against the heat vent and meow into it. I think he likes the sound of the echo.. probably thinks there's another kitty down there! He has also learned the sound of the alarm clock and the second he hears it go off he jumps up on the bed and starts meowing. It really is a nice way to wake up in the morning, it actually helps me wake up for my 8 am class! =)
Blade aka "King" is doing great!
He is my first very own cat and boy is he spoiled, and he knows it. When I get home from work he follows me around "talking. He is quite the snuggler, he'll either lay right next to me or my boyfriend, or he just lays in our laps or on our chest. King will walk right up to you and dive head first into you or the ground and then let the rest of him plop down when he wants attention. He is also a little ham - as I was cleaning the bathroom he decided to plop himself in the sink and just hang out. He has since moved on to just jumping in the bathtub to relax (with no water). All in all he is an extremely loving/sweet cat and I couldn't have asked for anything better. King also loves to play catch as seen in this video :)
Neptune (Sparky):
Sparky is doing great. He is getting fat though-my friend's mom is a vet and
she estimated him about 10 pounds! He's going to be a very big kitty, even with only one "meal" a day-one and half measured cups of food and treats when he's being good. He's still very energetic, and runs everywhere. Not very coordinated though, he hasn't yest grasped the concept of landing on four feet and not his behind. And we think he has a problem with his identity. He chirps like a bird, wags his tail and barks like a dog, and squeaks like a mouse-but it's adorable. He always needs to be the center of my attention, even if it does include his silent meows. We joked at one point that he had no vocal cords, then Sparky barked at us.
King (Blade):
King loves to play fetch with his new owner! Check out this great video:
Mikey:
Mikey shown here gazing over his kingdom. Says his owner "He has settled in very well and has already cuddled up with me once on the love seat! Thanks so much; a match made in heaven."
Merlin (Rowdy):
He is an awesome guy, we love him. He loves the back porch (pic). He and his brother and sister get their fill of birds, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits and our resident groundhog. Last week he saw his first deer in the daylight in our backyard. But his favorite spot is at the front door where the chipmunks scurry across the front steps.
Chloe (Lilac):
She is doing just fine - getting big, has long legs! Chloe is a very curious kitty and needs to be around no matter what you are doing! She gives us lots of chuckles. She often gets behind a corner and jumps out at us - oh so many antics. And when I'm ready to settle down to do my needlework guess who wants to settle down on my shoulder or across my chest and go to sleep? A favorite place for her to sleep is the sink in the small half bath! Forget the kitty bed. She is spoiled! She was a great surprise birthday gift for
my birthday!
